Martin Wheatley, Chief Executive, FCA, has written to the Chairman of the Treasury Committee, Andrew Tyrie MP following Mr Wheatley’s appearance before that Committee on 9 September 2014.
In his letter Mr Wheatley clarifies or answers a number of points raised during the session including in relation to:
- the number of individuals involved in benchmark fixing who have had action taken against them;
- the issue of regulated firms taking on secondees from firm advisers and accountancy firms;
- questions in respect of cyber security;
- the volume of high frequency trading as a proportion of the total equities trading in the UK; and
- market surveillance, particularly in regard to equity prices.
