FSA charges ex-hedge fund trader with conspiracy to commit insider dealing

On 28 April 2010, the FSA published a press release announcing that Anjam Ahmad, an ex-hedge fund trader, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit insider dealing under section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 (CLA). He has been bailed to attend City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 7 May 2010.

The charge relates to trading in 22 different shares between June and August 2009 and follows the arrests of three men on 28 January 2010 (see Legal update, FSA announces arrest of three men in investigation into suspected insider dealing).

The FSA is currently prosecuting three other insider dealing criminal cases:

  1. Peter Andrew King, Andrew Rimmington and Michael McFall
    Neil Rollins
  2. Christian and Angie Littlewood
