On 12 July 2016, the FCA published its annual report and accounts for 2015/16.
The report outlines some of the key pieces of work undertaken by the FCA in 2015/16. It also shows how the FCA has managed the risks to achieving its operational objectives that it identified in its 2015/16 business plan
The report includes the following appendices:
- Appendix 1: Skilled persons’ reports. In 2015/2016, the FCA used its powers under section 166 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) in 42 cases, of which 6 were contracted directly by the FCA.
- Appendix 2: Regulatory Decisions Committee (RDC) review.
- This is the first annual review published by the RDC of the FCA.
- Previously, the activities of the RDC were included in the main part of the FCA’s annual report. Among other things, the RDC anticipates that the introduction of the senior managers and certification regime is likely to increase the number of cases it sees.
The annual report will be discussed at the FCA’s annual public meeting on 19 July 2016.
