CII announced the “Aldermanbury Declaration”, which calls on the general insurance industry to commit to high levels of professionalism to highlight the market’s intent to raise its standing and reputation with the public. The Declaration calls on intermediaries and insurers to make sure their key individuals are qualified to “advanced diploma level”. Insurers should also meet the criteria for corporate chartered insurer status within business divisions and all employers should ensure their staff participate in appropriate training and development programmes.
