Hedge fund managers charged with more crimes – Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam and his alleged partner in crime, ex-New Castle Partners executive Danielle Chiesi, were slapped with additional criminal charges Tuesday (Feb 9), as prosecutors upped their estimate of insider trading profits in the case from $20 million to $49 million. The new charges were based on information the government received when others in the sprawling insider trading investigation pleaded guilty.

Those named as furnishing information to the government in the guilty pleas were Anil Kumar, who was a director with Kinsey, another New Castle executive, Mark Kurland, and former Intel executive Rajiv Goel.

The case involves mostly trading on inside information in some of the biggest technology companies including Intel, IBM and Google.

Ten people have pleaded guilty in the case so far, while more than 20 have been charged.
