Industry guidance on FSA Banking Conduct of Business Sourcebook – The British Bankers’ Association, the Building Societies Association and the Payments Council have jointly published guidance on the FSA’s Banking Conduct of Business Sourcebook (which applies only in relation to consumers, micro enterprises and small charities). The guidance aims to give examples of ways that firms can achieve compliance with the FSA’s rules and principles; it is not mandatory or exhaustive. The FSA has reviewed it and confirmed that it will take it into account when exercising its regulatory functions. The guidance covers a wide range of issues relating to communications with banking customers and financial promotions; distance communications; information to be communicated to banking customers; and post sale requirements.
