IMF guidance on AML/CFT
08 Jan 2013
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published a guidance note on the inclusion of anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) in surveillance and financial stability assessments. In particular it sets out a framework for the treatment of cases where money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as underlying crimes are so serious as to threaten domestic stability, balance of payments stability, the effective operation of the international monetary system, or the stability of the domestic financial system.
