Criminal Records Bureau
29 Nov 2012
If you have been asked to apply for a criminal record check you may have been asked to complete a DBS application form. Don’t panic. On the 1st December the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) will merge to create the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Established under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 the new organisation will provide a service to combine the criminal records and barring functions. The service and processes currently provided by the CRB are not changing as a result of the merger and they will continue to deliver their services to customers as normal throughout this transition.
However, they will be going through a rebranding exercise and as part of the rebranding they will be introducing a new DBS logo. If you are still using paper application forms there will also be small changes to the form and certificate.
The Basic checks offered by Disclosure Scotland will remain unchanged.
Eurocom CI will continue to provide our unique online service and offer one of the fastest turnarounds available. In addition we will be rebranding our sister sites that provide a stand alone service to reflect the new name. We invite you to checkout;
