INTERIM GUIDANCE NOTE: PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (TRUST COMPANY BUSINESS)

The Commission published a consultation paper in 2011 on amendments to the Codes of Practice, which included, amongst other matters, a proposal to publish a guidance note on professional qualifications in respect of trust company business employees. The Commission continues to consider responses to the consultation and is in the process of producing a feedback paper.

In advance of the publication of the feedback paper, the Commission is aware of a need to update the professional qualification tables for trust company business employees (“Table 4” and “Table 5”) to reflect the current position, therefore this interim guidance note is being issued.

References in this interim guidance note are to the published Trust Company Business Codes of Practice (the “TCB Codes”) available from the Commission Website and, at this time, no amendments are being made to the First Schedule of the TCB Codes.
