German prosecutors have filed charges against three former Siemens AG managers in a corruption case involving payments to the former head of an upstart labor union. Prosecutors in Nuremberg said Thursday they charged a former member of Siemens’ management board identified only as Guenter W., along with two lower-ranking managers named only as Alfred O. and Johannes A. The charges include incitement to breach of trust and tax evasion.
They stem from a case that already brought convictions in 2008 for former Siemens board member Johannes Feldmayer and the former head of the AUB labor organization, Wilhelm Schelsky. It centers on some euro30.3 million ($40.5 million) channeled to Schelsky from Siemens between 2001 and 2006.
