On 15 March 2010, the FSA published a press release announcing that Christian Littlewood, a senior investment banker, and his wife, Angie Littlewood, have been charged with thirteen counts of insider dealing under section 52 of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 and one count of conspiracy to commit insider dealing under section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977. They have been bailed to attend City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 6 April 2010.
A third suspect has been arrested in Mayotte, a French overseas territory, following a request for extradition to the UK to face insider dealing charges. This is the first time the FSA has sought the extradition of a suspect to face criminal charges in the UK.
The FSA is currently prosecuting two other insider dealing criminal cases:
- Neil Rollins (see Legal update, FSA brings fourth criminal prosecution for insider dealing).
- Peter Andrew King, Andrew Rimmington and Michael McFall
